Post Secret

So, I got this link from another friend's blog, and it's on my side links under "Share a Secret".

It's an art project where people can anyonymously mail in postcards sharing a secret to the readers of said blog. While perusing said site today, I noticed that one of the postcards mailed in had the UWEC Counseling Services address on it -- someone taped their appt. card to an index card which had 2122 Old Library. Not too many schools have addresses that list "Old Library" as a place to go.

I just thought it was interesting.

Some secrets are very serious and make me sad while others are sort of funny and just make you think.

Also makes me wish that no one had to have secrets (wishes, desires, problems, etc.) from each other. But, who really knows if telling the truth is worth the pain that it can cause, especially if you are affecting more than one person.

In my past year spent in RF, I learned that having troubles that you cannot talk to anyone about will only cause you pain and possibly worse. So, don't be afraid to find someone to talk to. Your sounding board may be in the last place that you expect to find it. If they are worth anything to you as a friend, they will listen to you. But, don't keep bottling it up. It's just not worth it.

So, that's all from Tosa-land today. More serious than I like to post on my blog, but I felt like saying it, so there we go.

I love that site - but yeah, it can be pretty depressing. I tell myself most of those cards were probably written during dark moments in the authors' lives, so hopefully it isn't always that bad for them.
