Remember when Jake forgot to reset his alarm today and we both woke up at 9? Oops.
Anyway, I think that I may have finally made a decision about going back to school, which I have been going back and forth about. After thinking about who I know that is in graduate school and thinking about the amount of time and effort I would have to put into getting back to where I was in 2004, right after my recital, I probably would not be able to go back for music performance. Which, I think, after have a conversation with Adam on the way home from Ohio, is probably not what I want to do REALLY, I just want to play more than never. So, I contacted some groups in the area to see if they are needed any horns (or trumpets, for Jake). The Music Director of the Menonomee Falls Symphony Orchestra has answered me back and will be getting in touch with me about it, because they need subs for their horn players sometimes. And I think that will be enough. If I really wanted to do performance, I should have made the switch over back in 2002, when I finally decided that music ed could go fuck itself. More so, the School of Ed at UWEC. I'm generally about 2 to 3 years behind my real age. Like I've said, 23 was like the perfect age and everything has been on a downslide since.
I really hoping that having some kids will be another upswing. :) But, not just right now.
ANYWAY, I think that my decision is to go to graduate school, but to go for a Master of Science in Accounting! UW-Downtown has a program where if you have another Bachelor's degree (in another area), you can apply for a program to get a Master's in Accounting, as WELL as get enough hours to sit for the CPA exam. I think that this will help for two reasons: 1. I can probably ask my job if they will reimburse me part of my fees and stuff, because it's related to work and 2. If I finish my studies, there is a chance that I can still work in the financial part of the arts for a company or orchestra.
WEll, I have to go to work. No updates this weekend -- I'm internet free! BYE!
