are probably the funniest four guys together in the same room that I've ever had the pleasure of hanging out with.
So, this WILL BE an INSANELY long post....you have been warned.
Ohio was, for the most part, terrific. The first day was a little slow for me, because the guys were at the park at like 8am and never came back that day, but I still woke up at 9:30am. Adam was sleeping like a rock, so I didn't wake him up. We drove a lot the day before. At 6am, Josh saw that I was awake in the living room and he said, "Angie's awake" to which I replied, "Yeah, I'm waiting for you fuckers to leave."
Hey, it was early and Keith was real loud.
I wandering around the apartment, doing this and that. I ended up reading in Colin's room for a while, hacking the web and what not. Colin sent John (the first trumpet) over to the apartment to get Josh's wallet, Colin's wallet and to drop off Colin's keys for us, which we needed to leave. Well, the idiot doesn't leave the keys and Adam ends up having to drive all the way out there to get them, which is how the rest of the day went, pretty much.
So, then, since it was hot, but I figured that I would be cold at some point, I threw on a tank top and stole Colin's button down shirt (see Facebook photos) and wore that downtown. It was actually a pretty nice shirt and I pretty much wanted to steal it permanently. Got downtown, ate a long lunch, because the server was a d-bag and was slow as hell, then found out that the R&R Hall of Fame and the Science Museum BOTH closed at 5:30. As well as everything else. So, we walked around downtown Cleveland, looking for SOMETHING to do, and found...nothing. Abso-fucking-lutely nothing. So, at 7pm, after walking around for an hour or two, we drove back to the apartment, watched Firefly, laid around. Went to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays, which the server was kind of dumb. And by dumb I mean this:
Justin: "We work at Ge-a-ga Lake" (You know, with the Wisconsin 'A')
Server: "Wait! What? You say that funny! Say it again"
Justin repeats himself
Server: "It's Ge-aw-ga Lake. There's a U in that."
Rest of us: Shut up, we're from Wisconsin.
Went back to apartment, and waited for Ben and Randy to get to the apartment. There was some poker, TV, and just general sitting around. Ben and Randy finally got there...which was sometime after midnight I think. We all sat around and Randy went and woke up Colin (who had gone to bed by then) and they all sat around BSing. I attempted to follow what they were saying, but there was too much jazz in there for me, so I just zoned out. Everyone pretty much went to bed, but Ben decided that he wanted to sleep out on the porch, so he did. I pretty much could not sleep the whole night, and kept on waking up.
Finally, I was asleep for the night and the morning and all of a sudden, I snapped awake to see Colin walking into the kitchen. It was like I was a motion detector or something. He left for the park to baby-sit the high schoolers and ended up coming back up for the iPod. He left again and Ben woke up when he was leaving and yelled for the porch at him. We got up, went to breakfast, where the crazy coffee giver waitress lady yelled "you're welcome" at Ben and Randy at one point, came back to the apartment and drove to the park. Justin drove Adam and I over there and dropped us off and then met us in the park. We found everyone else (being Ben, Randy, Josh and Keith) and we went on a ride (I don't remember the name). I was absolutely terrified and so was Adam, when his buckle on his harnness was undone going up the hill to the big drop. Colin was going to meet us, but ended up not being able to (sometimes being in charge sucks), so they got Dominated and then we wandered over to a "Pussy roller-coaster" which actually ended up being just as scarifying as the first, but I had to hold onto my sunglasses, so I was a little panicked on that one. Josh and Keith took off at this point. Then, we went on X-Flight, which you get really securely strapped into and then you go out laying on your back. I was a little aprehensive and almost decided to say that I was going to wait for Colin to go at night, but I figured I would really puss out then, so I got on. We rode up and went over the drop and it flips you over so it seems like you are FLYING! It was great! It was probably my favorite one. I even had the crazy laughter that I get when I am a little more comfortable with something that is still scaring the crap out of me. Then, all of a sudden, we go into a corkscrew turn at the end and I just about lose my breakfast. You know, sweaty, can't see straight, stomach turning. I was out of sorts for about two hours afterward. But, Ben, Adam and I went on this really lame water ride, which Adam got soaked on.
After that, it was time for the Boogie Down Band. It was really funny and entertaining. I suppose it was more so, because we knew the guys, but I really enjoyed it, each time. Ben and I sat right in the middle of the action for a while and Randy and Adam joined in. They do have some dance moves, although I will say that Justin was probably the most enthusiastic dancer. (Sorry Colin) It was just really a lot of fun. Adam and I both started laughing hysterically when they played the opening to Fanfare for the Common Man...I think that was it. I get that one and Zarathustra confused a lot. But, they played James Brown, some Ohio State stuff and other stuff that I don't remember right now. Josh shook his butt a lot and there was lots of pelvic thrusting to the delight and horror of the occassional 10 year old standing nearby.
We hung out a little bit after the first show and then wandered over the bridge to listen to the fake movie music. My favorite was the combination of Take 5 and Stolen Moments in 5. Walked around the water park and was going into the lazy river when I noticed we had to get back to hang out with the boys on their break. Watched the magic show, I tried to not be sunburned and tired. Based on Colin's reactions to me on occasion, I don't think that I was having a lot of success hiding my exhaustion. I agreed to get Dominated with Colin later that night and Adam and I headed out again for the lazy river, which I went in with all my clothes on (BIG MISTAKE!). We wandered back after going around three times and I was having a LOT of trouble drying off. So, I stood under the air dryer in the bathroom and hot dryed a little bit. Went out and saw the 7:15 show, hung around and tried to win prizes, decided before the 7:15 show that we were FREEZING! and I bought a bright orange Geauga Lake sweatshirt and Adam a bright yellow jacket. I felt more warm. Watched the 8:15 show, where Keith sat on Adam and freaked out some of the people around us. Waited for them to come out and Colin and Justin tried to convince us to go on the Dominator, but Adam didn't want to and I was too cold with my wet pants, so I started swearing, which easily ended the debate, but probably solidified my reputation for being a complete bitch. Oh, Colin was meeting us to take us back and we're waiting and waiting. Finally I call:
Me: "Hey, did you forget about us?"
Colin: (in a midly irritated and frustrated voice) "No, I can't go any farther, and Keith is sitting on the hood of car."
Me: "Did you call us?"
Colin: (same tone)"Yeah, twice, and you didn't answer."
Me: "Okay, well, we'll find you"
Little did we know, we though he meant the outside loop and he meant the parking lot. Oops. Oh, and I've decided that his phone and my phone just don't get along.
Went through the drive through liquor store, ate pizza, watched Serenity (which was a mistake, I think), drank, and hung around. Colin went to bed and we hung out more. Then, Jake calls me, freaking out, which causes me to freak out and I hide in the kitchen and Josh and Keith's bedroom. Then after that is all over, I go use the bathroom in Colin and Justin's room and almost have a crying breakdown in the bathroom. I was seriously considering waking Colin up, just to get a hug and maybe feel better about everything, but Justin came in, so I just went and cried myself to sleep instead. It was not a pleasant night.
Saturday am: Colin never sets alarm. Keith wakes Colin up at 9:10 "Did Colin leave?" Me: "I haven't seen him", then, *SLAP* "Why didn't my alarm go off!?!?!" I know why, because I've been up all morning -- he never set it. He rushes out of apartment and the guys slowly get up and head out. Adam and I got to the downtown again to go to stuff for real this time, are highly disappointed, and head back to the apartment. I grab laundry and we go to laundry mat, so I mostly wash Colin's shirt that I borrowed and some clothes that I wanted to wear home the next day. That took a couple hours of running around -- to Subway, to Target and back to laundry mat. But, got finished. Then, we had a siesta and Firefly at the apartment until the guys were home. Well, I drank in an attempted to be loaded when they all came back, but there just wasn't enough beer. Waited until 10, went to Applebee's, hung out there. Back to apartment, and stayed up way too late, but had funny conversations about different stuff. I stole Colin's phone, got Josh to sit on him (which was gross), and flashed him in the dark.
Sunday am: I wake up, shower and pack. Keith gets up, wakes up Colin. I got stare at him from the doorway until he really gets up and I talk to Josh for a while. Colin comes out and we talk a bit until he has to leave and we say good bye. We'll see each other again, I'm sure, but time and place cannot be decided on now. Plans made with one Colin Gilliland, Esq. need to be fluid until about 24 hours in advance. Said good-bye to the other guys (well, except Justin, who didn't wake up)and they mostly wanted to know if we were coming up to EC to visit. Probably Homecoming is my guess. Not before then.
Adam and I hit the road, make a stop here and there and stop over in Chicago to see the King Tut exhibit, which is missing one vital part of the collection: KING TUT! No mask, no mummy, no nothing. Boo. The Field Museum is really cool, and I would like to go down there again and visit the Aquarium and the Planetarium too. We are back in MKE at 9pm and Adam continues on.
I get home to realize exactly how much I miss everyone and everything in Eau Claire (and points beyond now too). So, now I have spent the past two summers living in two places that I sure as hell never want to live in again. I'm really hoping that Jake could find something else that is a better fit for him. Full time repair, not part time repair plus sales whenever we feel like scheduling you. No WEEKENDS! Something in Green Bay, or maybe elsewhere.
I'm not too in love with my job anymore, because of a recent management change. I'm feeling rather unsettled about it all. I'm just never satisfied. I don't think that I will ever be.
So, I apologize that it was so long and for the play by play type entry, but I had a lot of fun and wanted to share it with the world. :)
So, I started this Sunday night and am now finished Monday at 5pm. I did work in there too, you know.
Wedding of Jake and Josh's cousin this weekend. I should go find a new outfit I think. Or not. I'll just wear an old dress. Maybe. I did lose some side fat, so maybe that's a good thing. Or whatev. :)
Later, alligators!

sounds like the trip was fantastic (for the most part) I hope all is well with your darling hubby...I'm sure it is.
You are very very very missed.
haha, the "wisconsin A". i need to travel outside of the midwest more often.
was the king tut exhibit lame? i hope not. i really want to go, but it probably won't happen.
Amy -- Unfortunately, it was kind of lame. There was a TON of stuff that didn't belong to Tut and then they had maybe a room of stuff that was his.
The Anicent Egypt exhibit in the main part of the museum was actually MORE interesting.
Well, you've got until Jan 1, 2007 to go, so it MIGHT happen! :)
COSHKKIA!
