So, after saying that it's going to storm, etc. etc. for like the past week, it is finally raining and storming here in ole Tosa. It's a pretty good one too. At least I feel a little better because A) we have a basement and B) we're not on the top floor of a three floor building anymore.
Haven't seen a storm this good since I had to drive home through one back in late April/early May. But, I don't have to drive on I-94 this time.
I had a request from R Yakob W Boyle to update, because it's been a week, which I didn't realize it had been that long.
Worked 20.5 hours last week -- money is awesome.
Nothing out of the ordinary on Wednesday or Thursday of last week. Just a lot of cleaning, etc. etc. Actually, the only thing that happened was Jim Gornick got a hold of Jake to ask us to play for the recessional of their wedding on Saturday, the 24th. So, we decided that we could do that, so the two of us are playing horns 1 and 2 for Bells at the end of the ceremony.
Friday: Brooke, Josh and Kristine get here around 3. We all go over to Beihoff's to visit Jake and the stupid high school kid that he was working with would not shut up. So dumb. Then, we sit around until Jake is done working and we go to the Brewer game. Sat in the bleachers with all of the other crazies and drink and have an awesome time. Had two beers, a margarita (which was not frozen, because "we're selling them faster than we can freeze them"), 2 hot dogs, a pretzel and nachos. Not all at the same time, of course. And the Brewers won, so it was totally sweet. And we were sitting by crazy, yet nice and interesting people, which is what I LOVE about Wisconsin. Went to my mom and dad's afterward for a nightcap and sat out by their fire and just hung out until Brooke got real crabby and we left and went to bed.
Unfortunately, nobody slept very well, because we had the cats in with us and they are insane and Josh and Kristine were on the air mattress, which is DEFINITELY broken now. When Colio and James slept on it back in December, I didn't know if it was a fluke or not, but it wasn't. Broke'd'd'd.
So, Saturday: I was up at 5:30am, with everyone else and just stayed up pretty much. Took a nap around 10am, when I was so tired I couldn't stay awake. Then, watched a World Cup game with Josh for a while, then Josh and Kristine went to go see her Mom for lunch and her dad. I went to my parents to give my dad is father's day gift and just hung out for a couple hours.
Then, the four of us just hung out for a while and then went to Mama's (formerly Mama Mia's) for pizza and garlic bread! SO GOOD! ASLKJflkjasdlkgfj! Then, we came back and just hung out -- we were all tired, so it was a short night and we all went to bed pretty early.
Sunday: It was raining and cloudy and I swear that I could have slept until noon, but I got up about 9ish. Made breakfast of french toast and really scary turkey bacon, which was really not good. But the french toast was. Then, we went over to Mayfair and wandered around a bit and then went to Crate and Barrel and got Jim and Loni a wedding present. Then, we just sat around more and then around 6ish, Josh and Kristine went home.
Monday, I had off, so I could do the 8 loads of laundry that I had to catch up on, which I was able to complete, so I was happy. Also went over to the Gap and found a cute dress to wear for the wedding. I'm pretty excited. I just glad that I will get to see everyone when they are down here for the events on Saturday. I mean, we could have seen them, but it's nice to go to the event that everyone else is going as well.
I guess that brings everyone up to speed on the workings of my life in the past week.
I really like the new job. It's really nice and quiet in the office, the work is interesting and the people that I work with are really nice. So, things are really good there. I think that I will probably go to working 30 hours a week in August and then up to full time in September, after Labor Day. I have to talk to my supervisor about it yet, but I think that she will probably be okay with it. I figure that after I get back from my running around at the end of July, beginning of August, I will start 30 hours a week and then by Fall, I can probably work full time again.
My mom and dad are also paying off my major cc debt for me and I am paying them back, so I should start full time so I can pay them back faster rather than slower.
Anyway, I guess that's all for today. Maybe I'll be back in a week to do another really really really long update!
bye bye now
